【摘要】:Whenproperlyperformedandinterpreted,theexpansionpintestwillprovideinformationwithregardtothecapacityofatubeforexpansionandtorevealsurfacedefects.Expansionpintestmayprovidedataforresearchanddevelopment,engineeringdesign,qualitycontrol,andacceptanceorrejectionsinspecifications.1.1Thistestmethodestablishestherequirementsfortheexpansionpintestforcopperandcopper-alloypipeandtubinginsizesuptoandincluding4in.(102mm)inoutsidediameter.Note18212;Fortubesofsizesgreaterthan4in.inoutsidediameter,thefollowingflatteningtest,asdescribedinthevariouspipeandtubespecifications,isrecommendedasasubstituteforthepinexpansiontest.Forpipeandtubesover4in.inoutsidediameterintheannealedcondition,a4-in.longshallbecutfromtheendofoneofthetubes.This4-in.longsampleshallbeflattenedsothatagagesetatthreetimesthewallthicknesswillpassoverthepipefreelythroughouttheflattenedpart.Thepipeortubesotestedshalldevelopnocracksorflawsvisibletotheunaidedeyeasaresultofthistest.Inmakingtheflatteningtest,theelementsshallbeslowlyflattenedbyonestrokeofthepress.Note28212;Theterm"unaidedeye,"asusedherein,permitstheuseofcorrectivelensesnecessarytoobtainnormalvision.1.2UnitsThevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsareregardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationpurposesonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
